Merit Awards

Incoming Freshmen Academic Awards are provided to incoming 9th grade students who attain the highest scores on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam and who have listed Sacred Heart as their first choice school. Award notification will be included with the students’ acceptance letters in January. The award is renewable on a yearly basis if the student maintains a weighted grade point average of 90% or above at the conclusion of her freshman, sophomore and junior years.

The Academic Excellence Merit Award is provided at the conclusion of each academic year to the freshman, sophomore and junior student with the highest grade point average for the year and who demonstrates outstanding leadership characteristics. The award applies to the following academic year only. In the case of a tie, the award dollar amount will be equally divided. All students are considered and do not have to apply.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial Aid is available to qualifying families of all incoming and current students. A completed financial aid application is required and should be submitted directly to FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review) along with all necessary supporting documentation.  Financial aid amounts are based upon an annual analysis of the family’s financial need. Families are required to reapply for financial aid every year to account for changing financial circumstances. An application may be obtained by visiting www.fairapp.com. Applications for financial aid have no bearing on admittance.

The Sacred Heart Alumnae Association Scholarship is a partial need-based scholarship available to an incoming 9th grade student with a Sacred Heart alumna connection. To be considered, an applicant must list Sacred Heart as her first choice school on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam, have an 85% or above grade point average, complete a FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review)  application and submit three letters of recommendation. The scholarship dollar amount, averaging $2,000, is determined by the Alumnae Association Scholarship Committee and is based on demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is renewable for all four years provided the student meets the necessary criteria.   Applicants who do not receive the Alumnae Association Scholarship may still be eligible for Financial Aid.  Please click here for the Alumnae Association Scholarship Application

The Dear Neighbor Scholarship is a full tuition need-based scholarship awarded to an 8th grade student with preference to a young woman from the Hempstead/Uniondale/Roosevelt area who displays a desire, along with the academic ability, to succeed and become a contributing member of the Sacred Heart community. To be considered, an applicant must list Sacred Heart as her first choice school on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam, have an 85% or above grade point average, complete a FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review)  application and submit three letters of recommendation. The scholarship is renewable for all four years provided the student maintains a weighted grade point average of 85% or higher and is an active participant in the school community.
